Because some of them mis-represented Him at some point. Jesus had no business with poverty, but He became poor so that we can through His poverty become rich. Haughtiness does not elevate anyone, give room for tolerance. Most of the things we judge people for are the things we think they should know. We however forget that we are not them, and they are not us. TIMELY NOTES! Movement will be faster and better when light is brighter. No matter how familiar you are with your staircase, you will not run through it in the dark. Darkness is a compelling force; once it comes, it subdues everything inside it. And even if you desire to move very fast, the darkness will naturally compel you to pick one step at a time. The proven way to overpower darkness is to engage light. Darkness only occupies where there is no light, just as ignorance creates the drama when knowledge is not present. Life has a staircase, and everyone is expected to step-up from time to time. But scripture tells us that the whole world is filled with darkness. In other words, the whole world is filled with ignorance. I believe this is why many people have not gone beyond their first step in life. THEY ARE FOR SIGNS! I was heading home sometimes back when my spirit began to recite Isaiah 8:18. It says "Behold, I and the children that God has given me are for signs and for wonders". I know that scripture very well, so I wondered why my spirit was so excited about it, even to a point of reciting it. And all of a sudden, the Holy Spirit said something I'd call a paraphrase of that scripture. He said "you and the souls I have given you are for signs and for wonders; and it is your responsibility to ensure they become signs and wonders". I knew I had an obligation to win the unsaved souls to Christ and nurture them till they are established in the kingdom, but I didn't know they are my children, neither did I know that I have a responsibility to teach them how to become signs and wonders. WHERE ARE THE SONS? They say no knowledge is a waste, but I think the knowledge that can't solve immediate problems is a waste. The bible says the earnest expectation of the creature is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Who are the sons, and where are they? When will they start manifesting the earnest expectations of the world? Perhaps I know who they are. They have mixed identities; they claim to be believers yet they struggle alongside with the world in search of a job. They think selfish thoughts; their ultimate goal is to own a house and a car they can call their own. They blame the government for the challenges around their lives. The world may wait forever if these sons do not discover their purpose in life. If my purpose is to have a good job, own a house and a car, get married and have children, then I don't need to write these messages to you. The world is not waiting for me to buy the latest cars or build a mansion, it's not waiting for me

Your year of great promotions has finally come! This year, what affects others will not affect you! When others are going down, you'd be going up! When others are begging, you'd be lending! When they're thinking of who to sack, they'd be thinking of how to promote you! Ideas that will shake the world will be implemented by you this year! It will be clear that God has blessed you this year! This year, you will not lack helpers! Before a need arises, helpers will be waiting for you! You will not be stranded this year! TIMELY NOTES! You worth so much to God. That is why He sent His only Son to die for you. Isaiah 13:12 tells us that God will make a man more precious than gold. This means that people will give up their riches just to see or even hear you. A time is coming when some parents would not be burdened by their children's school fees, because even people who do not know their children would be paying their school fees for them. How would you feel if your child gives you a receipt of a bill you did not pay? We are in an era when people will place more value on a believer than their riches. We may not be their choice to be employed into their organizations, we may not be their choice to be admitted into their schools, we may not be their choice to be given a contract, we may not be their choice to be promoted, but God will make us their only chance. TIMELY NOTES! God does not keep secrets! The bible records that He sees the prayers and fastings we do in our secret places, but rewards openly. That also means, people may not be aware of the times when you suffer in prayer and fasting, but God will surely create the awareness, because He would reward you in such a way that people will see it. God is not partial; whatever a man sows, he would reap. Do not be too quick to judge prosperous people, because you may not be aware of their secret labours. Jacob wrestled with an angel in secret, and the reward was given to him in an open place. And Esau who was supposed to kill him suddenly embraced him. Paul and Silas prayed and sang in the prison, but God caused an earthquake, just to free them. He could have easily opened the gate, but He did not, because He does not keep secrets. TIME HAS NO FEELINGS FOR YOU! Time is a friend to no man. Rather, it's the life-gauge of every man. Time is a small segment of eternity. God lives in eternity, man lives in time. Every man is expected to live for a lifetime. Time is the carrier of the life of man; don't abuse your time if you don't want time to drop you. God gave man dominion over everything except time. Nobody has control over time except the Creator of time Himself. God gave us time so that we can programme the activities of our life into it. And even though you successfully program your activities into time, time will never wait for you to achieve your goal. Time waits for no man! TIMELY NOTES! Starting is easy, continuity requires more work. However, no matter how much demand the work places on you, grace is sufficient for you. The reason why many good ideas do not last long in the market is mostly because the work increased, and the people could no longer respond to the demands. Paul understood this principle when he said "I am what I am by the grace of God, nevertheless, I worked more than them all". The demands on Paul increased even to a point that he was stoned to death; but instead of dying, he stood up and continued the journey by grace. The other apostles stopped their journey when they were threatened and slaughtered, but Paul continued even after he was stoned to death. I have often said that grace is an extra tool for greatness; It is also a makeup for our weaknesses. When demands increase, grace also increases, so that you can meet up with the demands. FREE, WITH A RESPONSIBILITY! The fact that the devil has no power over a believer does not mean he is no longer wicked. He is "the wicked one", and anyone who is wicked will surely do wickedly, just as anyone who is good will surely do good. The devil may not have any power over you but he knows your bank details, he knows where you live, he knows when you're travelling on the highway, he knows when you're suppose to get married, he knows when you're suppose to graduate! TIMELY NOTES! Do not quench the spirit! The state of your spirit is far more important than any situation you may find yourself. No wonder the bible says "we should give thanks in all things, because it is the will of God for man". Our spirit is the doorway that God uses to intervene in our world, and when our spirit is off, God can not help us. The bible says the "Spirit of the Lord bares witness with our spirit that we are the sons of God". That also means we would not have any proof of sonship if God can not reach our spirit. GOD HAS MANY OF IT! It will never come to a time when God will feel burdened to give to you, even if what you need is something He had given to you before. The bible says He performs the things that are appointed for us, and many of such things are with Him. That could also mean that He is ever-happy to give to you, knowing that He has many of what you need. A man who is worth a hundred million dollars will be very happy to give out five dollars to someone who needs it. That is how God is, He may not be happy that the devil is stealing from us, but He will never withhold good from us. Isaiah 42 explains that God is ready to do something new if only we would snap out of self-pity and regrets, and tell Him to "Restore". The truth is; no matter the volume of what the devil steals from you, God, your heavenly Father, is not affected. TIMELY NOTES! Try something different this time! Sometimes we are misguided by our strategies that we hope they are still going to work after trying for so long. Imagine how the disciples felt when their usual method of casting out demons did not work, and Jesus had to make them understand that there was a need to try something different from the usual. Initially, Christ had taught them a lesson from the fig tree; He told them that if they could instruct any obstacle without doubt in their heart, then the obstacle will respond. Ofcourse, that strategy worked for them for a long time, until they encountered a challenge that required more. If your business has stopped experiencing the measure of growth it used to experience, then you probably need to try a different growth strategy. You may think you have the best strategy, but I can assure you that someone out there has a better strategy. Even though Jesus had given them the best strategy, He knew it was time to engage a better stra

GOD COULD NOT SLEEP! A certain king was really worried, he wondered what he could do to "remember" or bless someone. And for this reason, he just could not find sleep. By the next day, he called his counselor and sought for his advice. And as soon as he got an idea on what to do, he commanded the plans to be executed immediately. And it was done! Guess what? God is not sleeping; the bible says "He never sleeps nor slumbers". Not because He does not want to sleep, but because He is thinking of you, on how to bless you. Ps 115:12 tells us that God is mindful of us to bless us, and to bless us the more. The word "mindful" simply means we occupy a very large space in His mind or thoughts. Even as a mortal, when things occupy your thoughts, you will not find sleep until you clear them. That is what God is going through everyday. So who told you that God is angry with you, or that He has forgotten you. He may not like what you have done, but His entire

TIMELY NOTES! Things are getting better. Though prayer may not totally change a situation, but it would definitely add beauty and color to it. Prayer may not prevent a woman from feeling the pain of labour, but it would give her the joy of being a mother. Prayer may not prevent us from writing our exams, but it would give us hope for success. Prayer may not prevent us from going for an interview, but it would guarantee us a job. God makes all things beautiful when we pray to Him, including difficult situations. Face your challenges with confidence in God. "Faith" is risking everything on God, and God will never fail those that trust in Him. Do what you have to do, especially when God has approved it. The process may be painful and difficult, but with God, you are sure to emerge victorious. Prayer could not prevent Jesus from dying for our sins, but it guaranteed Him victory at the end. Prayer could not change the fact that Abraham needed to prove his loyalty to God

TIMELY NOTES! One reason why we fast is so that we can be sure and convinced about God's plan for our lives. I defined fasting as neglecting every other thing and drawing closer to God. And there is no better way to draw closer to God without studying about God. When it comes to fasting, studying is as important as praying. Praying is like breathing, while studying is like eating; if you continue praying without studying, a time will come when you would run out of points. It should not be called "prayer and fasting", but "studying, praying, and fasting". God wants to bless us, but He often waits till we find the reason why He wants to bless us. The bible says "When thou has found it, there shall be a reward". Do not spend all your fasting time in prayers, engage in rigorous study about what you are praying for. Isaiah 41:21 says "present your case, and bring your strong proof". If your proof is not strong enough, you may not get the bless

TIMELY NOTES! In Job 23:14, we would discover that God is a Performer. He performs the things that are appointed for us. And even if the devil manages to steal the things that He has done for us, He can always do another one, because many of such things are with Him. If the devil goes as far as stealing your womb, God has many of such wombs to give to you. If the devil succeeds in stealing your job, God has many of such jobs with Him. Do not be too careful about the devil; I believe God keeps a stock of our needs so that we can care less about the devil and serve Him with all of our hearts. The mission of the devil is to steal, Jesus came to restore. And Jesus is able to restore whatsoever the devil has stolen from us. In Ps 57:2, the bibles says "I will cry unto God most High, unto God that performs all things for me". That means, one of the ways to engage God to perform the things that are appointed for us is to pray. Ps 56:9 further tells us that "when we pray, th

WE CAN NOT BE PEERED! A certain master needed to send his recruits on a mission, and decided to peer them; 'Fasting' said "I can't go without prayer" 'Prayer' said "I can't go without faith" 'Faith' said "I can't go without knowledge" 'Knowledge' said "I can't go without peace" 'Peace' said "I can't go without joy" 'Joy' said "I can't go without love" 'Love' said "fasting, prayer, faith, knowledge, peace, and joy are all manifestations of me. I can't go without them". After the master heard their views, he asked "so what do we do?". 'Love' responded by saying; We cannot be peered. GOD FLASHES WHEN IT'S NOT TIME TO CALL! You really think it's only you that can flash, abi? Anyway, God also flashes, but not because He does not have credit. I have been privileged to meet great people, people with noticeable influence in our society. Humorous Africans, we consider every "big man" to be a "link or connection". "Tell him to connect you nau"; that's something you'd certainly hear when you eventually share your encounter with a friend or relative. Many people get really frustrated trying to get these "big people" to help them. But what they didn't know is that their encounter with these "big people" was only a flash from God. God flashes us with big encounters to keep our hope alive. His flash simply means "my dear, please don't give up, I'm working on your request". TIMELY NOTES! Fasting increases the depth of our thirst. People who live by chance may never see reasons to fast. Even though the happenings around them affects them, they just feel too lazy to take responsibility. I have vowed that in this year 2017, I will not let my life end with a story that will not give God glory, I will take responsibility and recreate the happenings around my life by the word of God. I have discovered that many people do not face the challenges ahead until their challenges reaches their neck. Heart attack is not actually what the medical practitioners call it, it is what happens when your challenges begins to cease your breath. Haven't you heard people say things like "I need breathing space"? Stop compiling your challenges, hoping that they would go on their own. If they would go on their own then they would not be in 2017 with you. From experience, I have discovered that challenges that go on their own do not require prayers, and the ones th

TIMELY NOTES! God knows you would feel pain on your quest for empowerment. He also knows you would become thirsty and hungry. The bible says "blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, they shall be filled". In other words, the people who suffer the pain of hunger and thirst just to draw nearer to God are blessed by God, and He fills them with His power and glory.  For those who are currently undergoing fasting and prayer exercise, I would like to encourage you from scriptures that; the sufferings and pains you are going through now is nothing compared to the glory that God will reveal to you in return. Is it not a wonderful thing to know that the hunger and thirst of a few days is putting the key to a glorious year in your hand? However, do not suffer for nothing. Create a study and prayer time while you fast. Fasting in its real sense means neglecting every other thing and drawing closer to God. And there is really no way to draw closer to God

TIMELY NOTES! Faith in God is all you need to live a victorious life. The bible describes faith as "the victory that overcomes the world". This also means that no matter what is happening in the world, faith will always win. However, both faith and victory are in degrees. It is the level of your faith that will determine the level of victory you would be able to attain. A certain man had a lunatic child who had been diagnosed with several treatments, but all to no avail. The child was even taken to the disciples of Jesus for deliverance, but it seemed the matter grew worse. The bible records that, sometimes the child will jump into fire, and some other times into water. But when they brought the child to Jesus, he was delivered instantly. When the disciples enquired to know why they could not deliver the child, Jesus told them that their faith was inadequate, and that the kind of faith that will cast out such a demon will require fasting. TAKE CARE OF THE HOUSE! "Take care of the house"; that's what the master told his housekeeper before he went for a wedding party. But the word "Take care" didn't sound appealing to the housekeeper. He preferred to "Take charge", since the master was not around. He felt his master's absence was a moment of pleasure for him. His master got to the wedding reception successfully, except that he forgot his golden pen, which he needed to sign an important document. He quickly sent one of his guards to get his pen from the house. But unfortunately, the housekeeper couldn't hear the guard knocking, because the sound from the music he was playing was louder than every other sound. He couldn't even hear the master's baby crying behind him. The master was curious, and this time, he sent his driver. The driver got there faster, but his quick arrival didn't help him. He joined the guard, and they both knocked and knocked, until they

PLANTS ALSO LIVE BY FAITH! Believers are not different from plants. The bible says the just shall live by faith, but guess what? Plants also live by faith. Jesus acknowledged the faith of a plant in Luke 12:28 when He said "if God clothes the grass, which may be in the field today and burnt tomorrow, won't He be more sure to clothe you? What little faith you have!". In other words, plants have better faith than we do. He continued by saying "so don't be upset, always concerned about what you will eat and drink, because your Father knows that you need these things. Instead, be concerned with His kingdom, and He will provide you with these things". That is probably how plants operate, they are just concerned with the kingdom, beautifying the whole earth, and God takes care of them for that. Many people are deviating from the main course. TIMELY NOTES! The devil has devised better means of attacking believers. Do not wait till you see a huge bird standing on your roof, or a scary cat standing by your gate before you would know that you are under a spiritual attack. When you begin to lose desire for spiritual things, when you begin to do your kingdom assignments out of duty and not out of desire, when you become weary in well-doing, when you suddenly prefer to hang out with worldly friends than your kingdom friends, when your body is often too weak to engage in spiritual matters, when your finances is constantly degrading, when your health becomes unstable, then you are under a spiritual attack. The truth is, the devil has a right to attack us, but he does not have the power to defeat us. He has the right to shoot at us, but he does not have the power to destroy us. HIS EYES COULDN'T SEE! He could not see, but he wasn't blind either. He did things wrong, only because he thought the only way to do things was to do them wrong. Telling him to do the right thing was an insult to him. He would even hit you if you were younger than his age. He's probably a professor of righteousness, "no one knows what is right except him". He had often thought to himself, "life must be a terrible place". He is one of those people who think everybody is suffering the same fate. If only he knew that people who live by faith don't suffer the ache of fate. Situations became tougher, but his inability to see prevented him from seeing the light. He could look, but he just couldn't see. Imagine looking at a beautiful car, and yet you don't believe it's a car. Imagine looking at a mansion, and yet you still believe it's the same with your 1-bedroom apartment. That's how life felt for him. He thought the rich w

TIMELY NOTES! Imagine for a moment, that you go for a job interview and the interviewer begins by asking you what you can offer the organization. And by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit you respond by telling him the major internal challenges of the company and the solutions. Two things will happen that day; the interview will not continue, and you would get the job. I remember going for a job interview for the post of an ICT Expert in 2012; but instead of a regular interview, the director deviated by asking me to teach him how he could hear from God. That was the only question I answered to secure an ICT job. I recently remarked that power has changed hands. Organizations will prefer to employ people with power than people with great experience and qualifications. The time is coming when interview questions will change; we would begin to hear questions like "what church do you attend?", "what miracles have you performed?", "what is your highest bible sch

KNOWLEDGE IS NOT POWER! Okay, I agree, knowledge is power. But let me share something I discovered with you. The bible says "all power belongs to God". And that literally means that there are different categories of power. Romans 13:1 further tells us that "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God". Which means there are lower powers. Intellectual knowledge gives you power; but it will not give you power to get wealth, to get a job, or start a business. If all you invest in is intellectual knowledge, then all you would have is intellectual power. Some people are really intelligent, but even with their intelligence, they have never been employed nor operated a business of their own. That is probably why we have countless number of graduates still seeking for employment. You may have studied law, but with your intellectual power, there is no guarantee that you will practice law.

TIMELY NOTES! Your experience is not a substitute for power. Moses had experienced God in different dimensions, but he could not cross the red sea until he engaged power from God. Many people are stagnated in life, not because they are not experienced, but because they ignorantly use their experience where they should have engaged power. An organization may employ you because of your experience, but it is power that will keep you in that organization. Many experienced employees have been laid off from their place of work, not because the company no longer cherishes their experience, but because they can not afford to keep them any longer. When you have power, organizations will keep you for as long as you decide to work with them. I have heard testimonies of employees who were promoted even when their employers were laying off staffs. A time is coming when experience will no longer be a criteria for employment, rather, organizations will be looking out for people with power. That

GO FOR MAINTENANCE! Our lives constantly needs maintenance. According to 2 Tim 3:16, the word of God is our life's maintenance tool. It has capacity to run both preventive and corrective maintenance on an individual. Some years back, I was diagnosed with brain tumor. I had headaches everyday, and I couldn't stay in environments that were too illuminated. They recommended medications for me, which I refused to use. Surprisingly, the more I studied the word of God, the healthier I became. A friend recently told me how he escaped the plague of insanity. During his ordeal, he couldn't identify anyone nor read anything. But surprisingly, he could read a copy of my book. He even read the words aloud such that everyone that were in his ward with him could hear. When he finally recovered, he told me that "my book was what hastened his recovery". He further said he could feel the words correcting his mind. Let me conclude with this; develop an habit of studying t

TOO NEW TO BE OLD! Stop stressing your life with those old things, the new things are far better. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, and all things become new. Yeah, all things become new! Your job becomes new, your marriage becomes new, your family becomes new, your business becomes new, your career becomes new, everything about you becomes new. The mistake most believers make is that they do not take out time to learn how the new things work. Instead, they do guess works, and oftentimes continue with the old methods without knowing. You really cannot know how a new thing works except you learn how it works. So, learn how your new marriage works. Learn how to approach the new business, the new job, the new academics and career, the new family. The world system cannot operate the new you. Therefore, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind through the word of God. Let me conclude with this; let God&#

TIMELY NOTES! No matter how many beautiful electronic equipments you have in your home, none of them will work until they are powered. The year may appear very promising for you, but these promises can only be fulfilled with power. Have you not heard of people who fall sick on the same day their organization planned to promote them? Have you not heard of people who lose their lives just before a major celebration? I remember the tragedy of a man who lost his life a night before he would have been declared the governor of a state. Nothing worthwhile works fine without power. You would be making a great mistake if you continue with this year without an empowerment retreat. Personally, I would be starting a 21-day prayer and fasting program in a few days from now, and the purpose is to break every barrier that may try to hinder God's plan for me this year. DON'T WORRY, THEY'D SOON BOW BEFORE YOU! Daniel was a God-addict; he could not stand serving anyone else except God. Seven presidents from the reign of Darius plotted against him, they convinced king Darius to create a lifeless image so that everyone would bow to it and worship it. But Daniel refused to worship that image, and that landed him in the lion's den. I want to believe that "the higher you scale in life the tougher your adversaries become". Daniel was the president among presidents, he was not against anybody, but everybody were against him. He did not do any evil to anybody, but many evils were committed against him. TIMELY NOTES! If people are not willing to help you, then it is probably because your power is inadequate. Ps 110:3 tells us that "your people shall volunteer freely in the days of your power". That also means that you would not need to look for helpers, helpers will be looking for you. The truth is; man will only help you with his security in view; if he does not feel secured about helping you, he will not. Power is what gives security to your helpers. You may wonder why many pastors are wealthy; well, it is because they have power, and people feel secured when they help them. But you do not have to be a pastor to enjoy help, just invest in spiritual empowerment. Working hard may bring you before great people, but it is power that compels great people to help you. Joseph's hard work took him to Pharaoh's prison, but when Pharaoh heard of his power to interpret dreams, he sent for him. And a prisoner suddenly became the second in command, because of power.
